Apple's unexpected decision: the company has acquired a game studio for the first time
Apple has made an unexpected purchase: this time the company acquired not a technology startup, but a virtually unknown game studio.
Here's What We Know
Canadian indie studio RAC7 has joined the Apple team, which will consist of just two people - Jason Ennis and Jesse Ringrose.
RAC7 previously released the adventurer Sneaky Sasquatch, which joined the Apple Arcade catalogue in 2019. Apparently, the corporation was so pleased with the collaboration that it decided to continue it in a closer format.
We love Sneaky Sasquatch and are delighted that the RAC7 team has joined Apple to continue working with us.
The value of the deal has not been disclosed, but it's unlikely to surprise with high figures.
Apple plans to further expand the Apple Arcade catalogue and apparently we'll be hearing about other acquisitions by the corporation in the future.
