Apple's hegemony continues with five iPhone models in the top 10 best-selling smartphones in the global market in the first quarter of 2025
The analytical agency Counterpoint Research has published a study of the smartphone market for the first quarter of 2025, in which it stated the absolute leadership of Apple.
Here's What We Know
During this period, the best-selling smartphone was the basic version of the iPhone 16, and the flagship Pro-model was slightly behind it.
The budget iPhone 16e is not in the top yet, since it was released only recently, but other studies have shown its great popularity.
The only flagship Android smartphone in the top ten was Samsung's Galaxy S25 Ultra, which ranked seventh, a lower result than the Galaxy S24 Ultra in Q1 2024.
The Counterpoint ranking also included Xiaomi with the Redmi 14 4G model - this is one of the brand's most budget-friendly current smartphones, which attracts buyers with its value for money.
Analytics from Counterpoint
A few important talking points from Counterpoint's research:
- the segment of budget smartphones priced around $100 was the fastest growing segment, accounting for almost 20% of global sales;
- the best-selling Android models are still the most budget smartphones, such as the Galaxy A06 and A16.
- Xiaomi's main sales growth is in emerging markets (Africa and Latin America).
