Google has updated the Google Photos app, adding an updated editor with artificial intelligence support.

Here's What We Know

The new tool is designed to make the photo editing process easier, making it fast and effective at the same time. Users can now receive AI tips for combining multiple effects, as well as edit individual parts of the photo with special recommendations.

The updated editor in Google Photos now features AI tools such as Reimagine and Auto frame. They help you quickly improve your photos by complementing the usual brightness, contrast, and other settings. Android users will be the first to get the new features, followed by iOS later this year.

Another new feature is that you can now easily share albums via QR code. You can show it to people nearby, print it out for events, or send it in messengers. Using this code, others will be able to view the album and add their own photos.

These updates mark the 10th anniversary of Google Photos. Since its launch in 2015, the service has become one of the most popular photo and video storage services. Today, it is used by more than 1.5 billion people every month, and the service stores more than 9 trillion photos and videos.

If you run out of storage on your phone, the app can help you easily restore some of it. Simply tap your profile picture and then "Free up space on this device" to delete items that are already safely backed up to your Google Photos account. You can still view them at any time in Google Photos.
