The WhatsApp team continues to work on new features, which are first introduced in beta versions of the app. Recently, a new option called Logout was found in the beta version of WhatsApp for Android.

Here's What We Know

When the feature becomes available, users will be able to choose between two logout options. The first option is to log out with the deletion of all data and settings, which is effectively equivalent to completely deleting the application from the device, but the user will remain in group chats. The second option is to simply log out, saving all data: chats, groups, and settings, which will remain in place and can be quickly restored when you log in again using your phone number.

This option seems particularly useful for those who want to take a temporary break from WhatsApp without completely deleting their account or losing their communication history. Currently, the feature is marked "Internal", which means it is being tested internally by WhatsApp's development team. Logout is expected to be released in public beta soon, and then in a stable update for all users.

The introduction of this option could make WhatsApp more flexible, allowing you to better control your online time and personal data. It is not yet known whether this feature will appear on iOS, but WhatsApp usually synchronises updates for both platforms.

Meta has recently released an adapted WhatsApp app for iPad. Previously, iPad users had to use the web version.
