Durov in a hurry: Telegram has not yet signed an agreement with xAI to integrate Grok - so far a verbal agreement with Musk has been reached
Yesterday, all the media published the news that Durov and Musk's collaboration: Grok AI assistant will be integrated into Telegram as early as summer 2025 under which the Grok AI assistant would be integrated into the popular messenger. This was announced personally by the creator and head of Telegram Pavel Durov, but soon afterwards Elon Musk, whose startup developed Grok, clarified Durov's words.
Here's What We Know
"The deal has not been signed!" - Musk claims.
In response to his post, Pavel Durov confirmed that indeed the companies have not yet signed a contract, but a verbal agreement has been reached and the parties will sign the documents soon.
True. Agreed in principle, but formalities are pending.

Most likely, the integration of the Grok chatbot into Telegram will indeed happen, but we are surprised by Pavel Durov's haste to disclose confidential information ahead of time (although Musk often sins in the same way).
Recall, with the advent of Grok in Telegram will appear the following features:
- it will be possible to make a request to the AI directly in the Telegram search bar;
- the AI can be used to make a short paraphrase of a long post, message or file;
- sticker generation directly in the dialogue by text request;
- factchecking data on Telegram channels;
- chat moderation with Grok - add a bot to the admin and it fights spam;
- generation of messages on demand.
The partnership between Telegram and xAI is for one year so far. Under the terms of the agreement, Durov's company will receive a $300 million investment and 50% of revenue from xAI subscriptions sold through Telegram.
