The next generation of Google Pixel 10 smartphones will be powered by the new Tensor G5 chipset manufactured by TSMC.

Here's What We Know

It is important that Google is switching from Samsung production to another partner, and at the same time changing the modem. Instead of Exynos, the Pixel 10 will have a MediaTek T900 modem. According to DigiTimes, the contract between Google and Taiwan's TSMC is expected to last until at least 2029, i.e. until the potential release of the Pixel 14. Google executives reportedly visited Taiwan several months ago to discuss the multi-year deal.

Many wondered whether this replacement would affect the ability of new smartphones to connect to satellites. A new analysis of the Adaptive Connectivity Services code has shown that the Satellite SOS feature will remain in the Pixel 10. The code clearly mentions the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, and Pixel 10 Pro XL models that will support this feature.

The model designations in the code are GLBW0 (Pixel 10), G4QUR (Pixel 10 Pro) and GUL82 (Pixel 10 Pro XL). Although this list does not include the Pixel 10 Pro Fold, it does not mean that the device will not receive satellite support - it may be added later.

According to the latest leaks, the Pixel 10 will be offered in Obsidian, Blue, Iris and Limoncello colours, while the Pixel 10 Pro and Pro XL will be available in Obsidian, Green, Sterling and Porcelain.
