Samsung opens 11 new folding screen repair services in Korea
Samsung has opened eleven new service centres to repair the displays of its Galaxy Z series foldable smartphones in South Korea, bringing the total number of service centres to 158.
What we know
These specialised centres are called "Foldable Phone Display Unit Repair" and were first opened in 2019. They do not replace the entire display, but repair only the necessary parts, which significantly reduces the cost of repair by 26-37% compared to a standard replacement. This approach is also more environmentally friendly, as it reduces waste.
The new service centres are located in different regions of the country: in Seoul (Euljiro and Yeouido), Gyeonggi, Gangwon, Chungcheong and Gyeongsang provinces. This will allow more Galaxy Z series users to receive profitable and high-quality service.
The Head of Service Technology at Samsung Electronics noted that the company is committed to improving the experience of Galaxy users, taking into account the interests of both customers and the environment. He also expressed hope that similar centres will appear in other countries.
Repairs in these centres take longer because the display is disassembled, replaced only with damaged parts and put back together, but this can significantly reduce costs and conserve resources.
As a reminder, Galaxy Flip 7 may be released in the US with the Exynos 2500 chip. . This is unexpected, as previously Snapdragon chips were traditionally installed in the US, while Exynos was left for other regions, including South Korea.
