Garmin may soon introduce new swimming and walking workouts on its smartwatches.

Here's What We Know

These features may appear, in particular, on the Forerunner 970 model. This watch has recently received Garmin Triathlon Coach, an app with free training plans to prepare for competitions.

According to the5krunner, swimming workouts will help users improve their technique and endurance. The workouts will be of varying difficulty. There will be sessions for open water swimming, recreational exercises, and timed workouts to check your form before the competition.

The new walking training sessions may include interval and recovery exercises, as well as sessions that promote mental health, conscious breathing and outdoor activities. Whether they will be part of Garmin Coach's training plans is not yet known.

The exact date of the launch of the new features and the list of compatible smartwatch models have not been disclosed. The latest updates to the Forerunner 570 and 970 have already included new features such as Evening Report, Running tolerance, and Running economy.

We expect official announcements in the near future.

We would like to remind you that Garmin is launching a new beta version to fix GPS errors in its watches. Users of the Instinct 3 AMOLED, Solar, and Instinct E models have already started receiving this update. Garmin owners are advised to keep an eye out for notifications about new updates and install them to avoid possible disruptions during GPS training.
