The WWDC 2025 conference is approaching, where Apple will make some big announcements and unveil new versions of its operating systems.

It is already known that the next version of macOS Forget iOS 19: Apple's new firmware will be called iOS 26 and will usher in a new number system, and now we know its name.

Here's What We Know

In a new issue of the weekly Power On news digest, authoritative insider and Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman reported that macOS 26 will be named Tahoe - in honour of the lake of the same name in California, famous for its crystal-clear waters. Thus, Apple continues the tradition of naming macOS in honour of geographical objects in California, remember, already released macOS X Mavericks (2013), Yosemite, Monterey, Sequoia and others.

This name should reflect the desire of developers to more transparent aesthetics of the interface with concise windows, buttons and icons.

WWDC 2025 will take place from 9 to 13 June.
