Volvo Car USA has revealed updates for the 2026 model year in the US. All of the Swedish brand's US-spec cars will get an updated infotainment system with a new UX.

Here's What We Know

Things will kick off with a next-generation user interface known as Volvo Car UX. The updated software can already be found in the EX30, EX90 and the updated XC90, but it will now appear in every new Volvo for the 2026 model year.

The software will then be installed on already released cars with Google built-in via OTA updates. That means around 2.5 million cars, including some manufactured back in 2020, will get the new infotainment features. Volvo said the update will appear on some versions of the C40, XC40, EX40, EX40, EC40, S60, V60, V60 Cross Country, XC60, S90, V90, V90 Cross Country and XC90.

The company didn't reveal much about the user interface, but said it was designed to "make complex tasks simple." The carmaker added that it used real-world data and customer feedback to ensure owners can interact with their car in a safe and enjoyable way.

In addition to software with the new UX, 2026 models will also get a hardware upgrade to Qualcomm's infotainment system. Such systems will be faster and more responsive.

Volvo is also making adaptive cruise control standard across the U.S. lineup. The list of new features continues with two new body colours, Aurora Silver and Forest Lake. Finally, the XC40 gets a new Black Edition styling package like on the XC60. The latter features black discs, emblems and grille.
