Meta has revealed details of the next generation of Meta Aria Gen 2 augmented reality glasses designed for AR, AI and robotics research.

Meta Aria Gen 2 is not created with the aim of mass production. It is a gadget for professional researchers and enthusiasts who promote high technology.

Meta Aria Gen 2 is characterised by a compact frame and a number of unique features:

• captures gaze direction, blinking and pupil centre position;
• four computer vision cameras allow you to track hands and other objects in 3D;
• a photoplethysmography sensor measures heart rate;
• a contact microphone provides high quality sound even in high noise environments;
• light sensor helps the device distinguish between indoor and outdoor light.

The weight of the gadget is only 75g, and the foldable temples will increase the convenience of use.

Meta Aria Gen 2 glasses will be released in late 2025.
