The iPhone 17 may get a new wireless charging device with twice the power of Apple's current generation MagSafe.
Here's What We Know
On the site of the Taiwanese regulator NCC found a certificate issued to the new MagSafe model with support for the Qi 2.2 standard. This technology allows you to charge compatible devices with a power of up to 50W wirelessly. Note that this is currently limited to 25W.
In addition, Qi 2.2 reduces heat dissipation and improves charging efficiency without losing power.
The NCC website mentions two variants of the charger, which differ only in cable length.
Most likely, MagSafe with Qi 2.2 will be introduced at the same time as the iPhone 17 series, an event expected in September or October 2025.
