According to a reputable Chinese insider Digital Chat Station, Huawei is planning to release its second ever triple foldable smartphone. The device is expected to arrive in the second half of 2025.
This time around, Huawei will focus on improvements in camera and performance, while the design will remain the same.
The insider claims that the device will be equipped with an upgraded camera, but the details are not disclosed yet - perhaps we are talking about new sensors or a more powerful image processing system. A new proprietary processor is also expected - it's likely to be one of the Kirin series chips, most likely the Kirin 9020, as the original Mate XT runs on the Kirin 9010.
Amid growing competition in the foldable smartphone segment, where Samsung, Honor, Oppo and Google are active, Huawei apparently intends to consolidate its position and offer a higher-end gadget.
