Media: Mindhunter and Banshee creator Doug Jung will helm a series based on Mass Effect
In December, it became known that the film company Amazon MGM Studios began work on a series based on the famous game series Mass Effect.
It was announced that the screenwriter and executive producer of the series will be Daniel Casey ("Fast and Furious 9", "Cloverfield 10"), and producers will be Avi Arad ("Iron Man", "The Punisher"), Karim Zreik ("Spider-Man: No Way Home", "Borderlands") and Michael Gamble - game director of the new part of Mass Effect.
Here's What We Know
Thanks to the sources of Deadline portal one more important person who will lead the shooting of Mass Effect film adaptation became known. So, showrunner of the series will be Doug Jung - co-writer of the famous detective thriller "Mindhunter" (Mindhunter) and action series "Banshee" (Banshee).
Both of these media projects received excellent reviews from critics and gained popularity among viewers, which allows fans of the incredible adventures of Commander Shepard and his companions to count on a quality series, although it should be noted that the creation of a decent film adaptation of such a complex and complex story will require a huge budget and talent of the crew.
It's still unknown whether the series will be an adaptation of the iconic trilogy or offer a new story in a familiar setting, but the plot of Commander Shepard is so epic that it would look great in a TV series format, and it wouldn't require major changes.
Obviously, it'll be a few more years before a Mass Effect TV series premieres, but if it's as good as Amazon's Fallout adaptation - the wait will be worth it.
