After a wave of community outrage over the sky-high prices of microtransactions, 1047 Games has taken a step towards players by announcing a price reduction. For example, the Nano Swarm bundle, which originally cost $145, will now cost only $40. The developers emphasise that this change is a direct result of the critical feedback received from the community, which once again proves the power of the gamers' voice.

Here's What We Know

Fans praised 1047 Games for such quick action, which included halving the price of the Nano Swarm bundle and partially refunding all those who purchased the bundle at a higher price.

Splitgate 2 was revealed during the Summer Game Fest presentation (and immediately released), where Ian Proulx showed the game's "battle royale" mode.

The most unpleasant note after the battle royale reveal was the significant microtransactions, some of which reached $145 per package before discounts were applied.

In a recent post on social media, 1047 Games CEO Jan Prulks explained the situation:

"The first thing I want to do is redouble our efforts to be community-focused and listen to you. You are the reason why we are here. And so, the first action we're taking is we're hearing you loud and clear about the prices in the store."

Proulx went on to emphasise that the battle royale concept is not about "chasing a trend", but rather about innovating in the genre and introducing a new concept - "a hybrid of an arena shooter with a battle royale".

Splitgate 2 is available for free on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox.
