Horror is back in 4K and 60 FPS: Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition is now available on Steam
Bandai Namco seems to be preparing for a large-scale return of Little Nightmares. The existence of the Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition accidentally surfaced through the Steam listing, revealing that the game will receive a number of graphical improvements and new performance options.
Here's What We Know
According to the official description on the PlayStation Store, Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition will support both Quality mode and Performance mode, allowing players to choose either visual quality or a smoother frame rate, depending on their preference.
The game will now run at resolutions up to 4K and 60 frames per second, a significant improvement over the original. In addition, the new version introduces ray-traced reflections, improved water rendering, increased particle effects, and improved volumetric lighting.
The list also mentions new additional gameplay features called "additional assistants" aimed at making the game easier to play.
The core gameplay and story remain unchanged, and the updates are focused solely on improving immersion and accessibility.
Since its debut in 2017, Little Nightmares has won over players with its eerie atmosphere, distinctive art style and mysterious storyline. Players control Six, a vulnerable child who navigates the grotesque horrors of the Underbelly, relying on stealth, puzzle solving, and instantaneous escapes to survive.
Key note: save files from the original game will not be ported over, likely due to changes in the engine or architecture. However, leaks suggest that current owners on PC and consoles can get the update for free.
Although Bandai Namco has not yet officially confirmed the details, the appearance of the edition hints at an imminent release.
