Apple has unveiled iOS 26, one of the biggest iPhone updates in recent years. Developers can already install the beta version, and the public beta will appear in July.

Here's What We Know

The key innovation is a complete visual redesign with a new Liquid Glass style. The lock screen now supports 3D wallpapers, and interface elements change depending on the content. The phone app now supports Call Screening - artificial intelligence can answer calls for the user, just like on Pixel smartphones.

Another major innovation is Live Translation. iOS 26 translates phone calls, messages, and even lyrics in real time. The Apple Music app now has a track mixing function, similar to DJ software. iMessage has also undergone changes: chat themes, typing indicators, automatic spam blocking, and the ability to create polls.

In addition, Apple Maps now remembers places that owners have visited, and the new Apple Games service collects all games in one interface - an analogue of Google Play Games.

iOS 26 is available for developers today for models starting with iPhone 11. The public beta will be released in July, and the stable release will be in autumn. Some features, including those related to Apple Intelligence, will be available only on iPhone 15 Pro, Pro Max, and later models.

The update is compatible with the following devices:

  • iPhone 16e, 16, 16 Plus, 16 Pro, 16 Pro Max
  • iPhone 15, 15 Plus, 15 Pro, 15 Pro Max
  • iPhone 14, 14 Plus, 14 Pro, 14 Pro Max
  • iPhone 13, 13 mini, 13 Pro, 13 Pro Max
  • iPhone 12, 12 mini, 12 Pro, 12 Pro Max
  • iPhone 11, 11 Pro, 11 Pro Max
  • iPhone SE (2nd generation and later)

iOS 26 will also work on future iPhone 17 models that have not yet been announced.

iOS 18 will be the last update for owners of iPhone XS, XS Max, and XR - these devices will not receive a new version of the system. Apple is gradually phasing out support for older models.
