WWDC 2025 presentation is the shortest in the last 10 years
Apple has reduced the duration of this year's WWDC 2025 presentation to 92 minutes, making it the shortest in the last 10 years. According to the official YouTube channel, none of the previous events since 2015 had such a short timing. For comparison, in 2015, 2017, or 2019, presentations lasted about 140-145 minutes.
The chart summarising the duration of the presentations from 2015 to 2025 shows a clear decline since 2020, when Apple switched to the online event format. But even then, the figures ranged from 107-126 minutes (median value 120 minutes). But 2025 "broke through the bottom" - the red dotted line clearly demonstrates the gap.
Why this is important
The reduction in time can indicate several things: the pace of operating system development has slowed down and the company simply has nothing to show for the two hours. It is difficult to create a new revolution every year that is worthy of the attention of millions of users.
What was shown in 92 minutes
Despite the brevity, Apple managed to cover all key platforms: iOS, iPadOS, macOS, watchOS, tvOS, visionOS. As usual, iOS took the most time - almost 38 minutes, while tvOS was covered in less than 5 minutes. Apple has officially announced the transition to a unified numbering of operating system versions by year (this year it is 26). It introduced a new unified interface design for all platforms - Liquid Glass. In general, the company focused on new opportunities that artificial intelligence functions (in particular, Vision Intelligence) open up for developers and users.
