Xiaomi SU7 Ultra sets a new Nürburgring record for a production electric car
Xiaomi has announced the record of the SU7 Ultra sedan with the optional "track package" at a famous race track in Germany. The car completed the lap in 7 minutes 4.957 seconds, the best result for a production electric car in the history of the Nürburgring.
The previous record holder - Porsche Taycan Turbo GT with Weissach package - showed a result of 7 minutes 07.55 seconds in 2024.

Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun expressed confidence in further improving the result on its X and Weibo social media pages. The company plans a long-term presence on the track to compete with the world's leading carmakers.

The SU7 Ultra prototype previously clocked a time of 6 minutes 46.874 seconds in October 2024, becoming the fastest four-door car on the track. This broke a seven-year dominance by European and American brands.
The production version of the SU7 Ultra uses the same three-motor powertrain with Xiaomi engines with a combined output of 1,548bhp. The sedan accelerates from a standstill to 100 km/h in 1.98 seconds, with a top speed of 350 km/h.
