Huawei has unveiled the Pura 80 smartphone range: the flagship Ultra-model gets a cool set of cameras and a large OLED display
Huawei has officially unveiled the Pura 80 line of flagship smartphones, with the Pura 80 Ultra model being the main star.

The Pura 80 Ultra is aimed at bloggers and lovers of quality photography and received a unique periscope camera with two lenses: one with 3.7x optical zoom and the second with 9.4x.
Overall, the sensor set looks impressive: 50MP, 1", f/1.6-4 (main), 40MP, f/2.2 (wide-angle), 50+12.5MP, 3.7x + 9.4x zoom (dual periscope), 1.5MP (spectrum sensor), 13MP, f/2.0 (front).
The smartphone features a 6.8″OLED screen with 3000 nits peak brightness and 120Hz refresh rate. The display is protected by second-generation Kunlun glass, which is 16 times more scratch-resistant and 25 times stronger in case of drops.
The Pura 80 Ultra is powered by an 8-core Kirin 9020 (7nm) processor and was the first smartphone to run HarmonyOS 5.1 out of the box and supports satellite connectivity, NFC and has powerful speakers.
The 5700mAh battery supports 100-watt wired charging and 80-watt wireless charging.
The Pura 80 Ultra is available in 16/512GB configurations priced at $1390 and 16GB/1TB for $1530.
Apart from the flagship Pura 80 Ultra, the new line-up from Huawei includes three other models:
- Pura 80 is the base version with a 6.6″OLED display, 50MP main camera, 12MP telephoto lens and 13MP ultra wide lens. The 5600mAh battery supports 66-watt charging;
- Pura 80 Pro - larger 6.8″ screen, improved camera with 48MP macro telephoto lens and 40MP ultra-wide. Charging is more powerful at 100W;
- Pura 80 Pro+ - analogue to the Pro version, but with more storage and premium body materials.
Pre-order is now open in China, with sales starting on 26 June. The global release date for the Pura 80 is still unknown.
