The gaming industry is losing a talented team once again: Cobra Mobile, the Dundee, Scotland-based studio that brought us games like iBomber and Storm In A Teacup, is closing down.

Here's What We Know

According to The Courier, the company's CEO and founder Mark Ettle said the decision to close was made after a "really sad combination of events", including the death of the chairman, Peter Mackintosh, and customer bankruptcies that led to debt.

"There was a downturn in the sector, which made it difficult for us to continue with the roadmap we wanted to follow," said Attle. "It all hit us at the same time. It's really sad, but it's been a fun ride over the last 20 years."

"We've created a lot of great games, won a lot of awards and been nominated for even more. We've won business awards for the way we've operated and managed. But there are things in business that you just don't control and events that you can't predict," concluded Attlee, emphasising the unpredictability of the business environment. "The industry is in a recession. This is not an isolated event. We've had one event on top of another - a cascading waterfall of bad results."

Cobra Mobile was founded in 2005 and is known for its games including Storm In A Teacup and iBomber. The developer has created games for iOS and Android, as well as for platforms such as PC and Nintendo.
