Surprise for fans of The Last of Us: composer hints that the fourth season will be released
Only last month, the second season of the HBO series ended, paving the way for the third season, where we will see the events of Abby (Kaitlyn Dever) in Seattle from her point of view. However, while we are still waiting for the premiere date of season 3, the composer of the series seems to have let slip that the fourth season is already in development.
Here's What We Know
During the podcast The Last of Us: Savage Starlight podcast, composer Jake Staley hinted that a fourth season is on the way: "There will be at least two more seasons, no doubt. At least, that's all I'm going to say."
In support of this, showrunner Craig Mazin has now stated that it would be impossible to tell the story he and his team have in mind in less than four seasons. He even expects Season 3 to be longer than Season 2.
"There is no way to complete this narrative in season three," Mazin told Collider. "Hopefully, we'll make enough money to come back and finish it in season four." Prior to that, HBO executives stated that The Last of Us would probably end after its fourth season.
However, even season 3 of The Last of Us is probably still a long way off, as filming for the new season has not yet begun.
