New Silent Hill f details: seven minutes of gameplay and a comment from the series producer on the game's main features
Today is a great day for fans of the Silent Hill series! In addition to Bloober Team confirming the development of a remake of the first instalment of the series, Konami held a new gameplay demo of Silent Hill f at their own show.
Here's What We Know
Viewers were shown seven minutes of gameplay of Silent Hill f, during which the protagonist - young Hinako explores the gloomy locations of Japan in the 60s, which are filled with creepy monsters.
The girl is forced to use pipes and other improvised objects for self-defence, as there are no firearms in the game, and the combat system is focused on dynamic and brutal melee fights, in which the player has almost no chance to make a mistake.
The footage is accompanied by comments from franchise producer Motoi Okamoto, who explained that with the development of Silent Hill, the series moved too far away from the concept of "Japanese horror" and focused on Western artistic techniques and preferences. And it is with the aim of returning the series to its Japanese roots in Silent Hill f was chosen strictly Japanese setting, and instead of banal scrimmages authors gradually build up the atmosphere and bring it to the classic horror.
By the way, a few days ago Motoi Okamoto explained that it is because of the above reasons that the new game will be radically different from Silent Hill 2 Remake.
When We Can Expect It
Silent Hill f will be released on the 25th of September on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series. Pre-orders are already open.
