Google has released a major update to its photo editor Snapseed - version 3.0. This update was the first major one in several years and completely changed the interface of the iOS application.

Here's What We Know

Snapseed has not received any significant updates for a long time, and it seemed that Google had forgotten about it. The last noticeable changes in the application were back in 2021, and in 2023-2024, only minor edits were made. Snapseed works without the Internet and does not depend on servers, so Google could not update the app for a long time.

The new version of Snapseed 3.0 has a simpler icon and an updated design: the main screen now shows edited photos in a grid. To start editing, click on the floating plus button at the bottom of the screen.

The Snapseed interface is divided into three tabs: "Looks, Faves, and Tools. The Faves tab is a new tab where you can save your favourite tools for quick access. The Tools tab contains all the tools you need: light adjustments, correction, retouching, shape changes, styles, effects, and more. To change the parameters, you can now use a convenient arc control.

Google has also hinted that new features may be coming soon, but for now, the update is officially available only for iOS. It is not yet known whether Snapseed 3.0 will be available for Android.

Google recently released a stable version of Android 16, which is currently available only on Pixel smartphones. The firmware includes large-scale improvements in data protection, sound, notification system, and interaction with third-party devices.
