Samsung has released the second beta version of One UI 8 based on Android 16 for the Galaxy S25 and added a useful accessibility feature - Real Time Text (RTT). It helps people with hearing or speech problems to communicate more easily during phone calls.

Here's What We Know

RTT allows you to text directly on the call screen in real time - every letter you type is instantly displayed to the person you are talking to. It's similar to instant messaging, but works in parallel with a voice call.

Users can edit the text, and the changes are also visible to the other party. The feature supports the simultaneous use of audio and text, as well as the ability to mute the microphone so that the other person does not hear the sounds.

RTT requires a 4G, 5G or Wi-Fi Calling connection, as well as support for this technology on the other party's device. Calls using RTT are charged as regular voice calls, but you should contact your operator to check the tariffs.

In the settings of the Samsung Galaxy S25 phone, users have access to the options "How to start RTT calls" and "Use an external TTY keyboard", which expands the communication options. Currently, according to testers, the function is unstable or does not activate at all, even when using compatible devices. It is possible that in the next beta or stable updates, it will fix this flaw.
