Apple has informed that some Mac mini users with the M2 chip may experience an inability to start the computer.

Here's What We Know

The US company said that only a small percentage of Mac mini that were manufactured between 16 June and 23 November 2024 are experiencing the problem.

Apple has not disclosed what the problem is, but promises to fix it as soon as possible and has already launched a Mac mini service programme.

Users of the problematic devices can apply for free repairs at Apple Store locations or partner company branches.

The programme covers eligible devices for three years from the date of original sale.

You can find out the date of manufacture of your Mac mini by entering your computer's serial number on the Apple Support page.

If your machine needs repair, Apple recommends backing up your data before taking it in for service.
