Honda will start producing parts for older models again
Good news for those wishing to restore an old Honda NSX: the company is launching a new programme to supply parts for discontinued models. First on the list is the legendary first-generation NSX. The programme will start in spring 2026.
Here's What We Know
So far Honda does not specify exactly what parts will be included in the list. And, judging by the wording, it will not only be original parts. The statement says that it is becoming increasingly difficult to supply all branded OEM parts for older cars, so the company will use so-called "original compatible parts". That is, analogues that meet quality standards but won't necessarily be manufactured to old drawings in an old factory.
In some cases, it could involve remanufactured parts, 3D printing and other modern methods. The key, Honda says, is to keep functionality and reliability at the same level as the original.
Now Honda has a programme NSX Refresh Plan - it works since 1993, but will soon be closed. Its place will be taken by a new global refurbishment service, which will eventually cover other sports models of the brand. Which ones - not yet disclosed. Details are promised in the autumn.
