Little is known about Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet is very little known. However, thanks to a leak from the LinkedIn profile of a former Naughty Dog designer, we got the first hint that the game will feature "RPG progression systems".

Here's What We Know

Since the game's announcement at The Game Awards 2024 last year, Naughty Dog has been almost completely silent on Intergalactic. We know that it will be very different from the studio's other games, but details have been scarce, and most of the information had to be sought out piecemeal.

This is what led to the recent discovery made by Reddit user 22Seres. 22Seres shared the LinkedIn profile of a former Naughty Dog designer who worked at the studio from August 2022 to February 2024.

In addition to a brief mention of The Last of Us Online (which makes us sad), the LinkedIn profile also notes that the designer worked on Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet. In particular, they worked on some "RPG progression systems" - RPG progression systems that we haven't heard about since the game's announcement.

Considering how much Neil Druckmann has talked about how big and unique Intergalactic is going to be, it seems logical that it might have some RPG mechanics. Of course, the definition of an "RPG system" is very broad and can mean many things: from a simple skill tree to more advanced character leveling and ability development.

However, we'll have to wait a very long time before we see for ourselves exactly what kind of RPG systems Intergalactic will have, but this is an interesting glimpse into what this game could become.
