The technological virtuosos from Digital Foundry have once again taken on a new game, and this time they have a PlayStation 5 exclusive in their sights - Death Stranding 2: On the Beach. And it probably won't come as a surprise to anyone that DF analyst John Linneman is extremely impressed with Kojima Productions' new creation, calling it "one of the most beautiful games of this console generation".

Here's What We Know

Of course, if you are afraid of spoilers or new gameplay, it is better to refrain from watching the video from Digital Foundry. But if you are interested in all the visual aspects that this game has to offer, it is definitely worth watching. It looks like Death Stranding 2 is a real technical masterpiece.

The game environments offer "some of the best virtual landscapes you will find in any game" with "exceptionally fine detail". Particularly impressive are the weather effects, which not only look great but also have a direct impact on gameplay. The character models were also highly praised, with their performances making the ensemble "feel alive". All sorts of visual techniques and high-quality animation combine to create a magical effect.

Perhaps most importantly, both PS5 and PS5 Pro versions of the game run perfectly. With "only minor differences in image quality and graphical settings" between the two, Death Stranding 2 runs extremely smoothly at 60 frames per second in Performance Mode and 30 frames per second at higher resolutions in Quality Mode.

Of course, the PS5 Pro version offers some visual enhancements, as expected, but it looks like owners of standard PS5s will have a great experience as well.
