Ukrainian company DevDroid has unveiled a new combat ground drone Droid Raw 12.7, based on the all-terrain platform "Ravlik" and equipped with a remote-controlled module with a large-calibre M2 Browning machine gun.

Here's What We Know

The main feature of the Droid Raw 12.7 is the Wolly 12.7 module, which allows the logistics platform to be quickly transformed into a full-fledged combat unit without major structural changes. The drone can conduct reconnaissance and fire at a range of up to 1,000 metres, while remaining virtually silent thanks to its electric motor.

The complex is equipped with:

  • optical cameras (including thermal imaging),
  • automated guidance system,
  • software for precise aiming,
  • is able to operate in reconnaissance or assault mode;
  • the drone can travel up to 20 kilometres over rough terrain on a single charge.

According to the developers, the Droid Raw 12.7 has passed field trials and is ready to be integrated into combat missions.

Why it matters

This is another step towards strengthening autonomous solutions on the frontline, which reduce risks for fighters and increase the efficiency of operations.

The creation of such systems will allow the Ukrainian army to solve one of its main problems - the shortage of manpower in the conditions of active warfare unleashed by Russia. And given that the occupiers are using less and less heavy equipment, drones like the Droid Raw 12.7 can effectively target enemy infantry.
