Compact, powerful, self-contained: Xiaomi has unveiled the Redmi K Pad tablet
Xiaomi held a full presentation of the compact tablet Redmi K Pad, which is positioned as a competitor to the iPad mini and even in some respects ahead of it.

Redmi K Pad is a flagship-level gadget with an 8.8″LCD display with 3K+ resolution, 165Hz refresh rate and a powerful MediaTek Dimensity 9400+ processor clocked at 3.73GHz. In addition to the powerful chipset, the tablet will get 8/12/16GB (depending on configuration) of RAM and 256/512/1024GB storage.
The Redmi K Pad weighs just 326 grams, but has an inbuilt 7,500 mAh battery, which is 44 per cent more capacious than the iPad mini.
The tablet has two USB Type-C ports, built-in stereo speakers and is sold with HyperOS 2 shell based on Android 15.
The novelty has a modest set of cameras:
- main: 13 MP, OmniVision OV13B sensor, supports shooting in 4K and slow-motion video up to 120 fps;
- front: 8 MP, OV08F sensor, f/2.0 aperture.
Redmi K Pad is available in black, purple and green colours.

- 16GB + 1TB - $585.
These prices are current for the Chinese market and may vary when ordering through international marketplaces. It is not yet known if Xiaomi is planning a global release of the Redmi K Pad.
