Xiaomi has unveiled its first smart glasses with artificial intelligence - Xiaomi AI Glasses, which are the brand's answer to Ray-Ban Meta and set a new bar in the wearable electronics segment.

Here's What We Know

The glasses weigh just 40 grams and feature a 12MP Sony IMX681 camera capable of recording videos in 2K resolution at 30 FPS and has facial recognition capability.

The device supports voice control via the XiaoAI assistant and also has a touchpad on the right wishbone for manual control. The inbuilt five bone conduction and noise-cancelling microphones ensure quality audio recording even in noisy environments.

Xiaomi AI Glasses are powered by the Snapdragon AR1 chipset and its proprietary Vela operating system. The 263mAh battery provides up to 8.5 hours of battery life - almost twice as much as the nearest competitors. Charging is done via USB-C, eliminating the need to carry a special case.

The electrochromic lenses of Xiaomi AI Glasses allow you to switch between modes:

  • transparent - for normal indoor use;
  • semi-darkened - for comfortable work in bright light;
  • fully darkened - for sun protection or immersion in content.

The glasses are available in three colours - black, brown and green. The basic version costs $278, while models with electrochromic lenses go for up to $420 (in RMB terms).

For now, the device is only available in China and there is no information about the global launch.
