Mercedes-Benz has started using remanufactured batteries in electric trucks
Mercedes-Benz Trucks has extended its spare parts range in Germany with a remanufactured CB400 high-voltage battery for the first-generation Mercedes-Benz eActros 300/400 and Mercedes-Benz eEconic electric trucks.
Here's What We Know
The recycled CB400 battery packs were originally a student project, but over time has evolved into an initiative to remanufacture high-voltage batteries in the commercial vehicle sector. The battery packs are disassembled, cleaned and remanufactured to the manufacturer's new standards. The control unit receives the latest software. The battery also undergoes rigorous functional and leak tests.

Mercedes-Benz Trucks positions remanufactured batteries as an alternative to new batteries. This extends their service life, conserves natural resources and reduces their carbon footprint. Each battery is covered by the official Mercedes-Benz Trucks warranty.
Daimler Truck, the parent company of Mercedes-Benz Trucks, hopes that this programme in the reuse and recycling of key automotive components will become a central element of its growing circular economy.
