It seems that the long story about the sale or blocking of the social network TikTok on the territory of the USA is close to the end.

Here's What We Know

In an interview with Fox News, US President Donald Trump said that "a group of wealthy American investors are ready to buy TikTok." Trump noted that the names of the participants in the process will be publicly announced within two weeks and hopes that the Chinese authorities will approve the deal, despite the strained relations between the two states.

Trump said TikTok is important to American youth, but the platform needs to be "responsibly managed," which apparently means not handing over users' personal data to Chinese authorities, which is what the platform is suspected of doing.

Recall that in 2024, Joe Biden signed a law that required Chinese company ByteDance to sell TikTok or the social network would be banned in the US. Trump has several times given a delay to the Chinese to solve this issue, but now the deadline is getting closer - 17 September 2025.
