Downloading apps from Google Play will become more convenient and informative: the company updates the corresponding notification
Google is updating the notification interface for app downloads in its shop. Google Play users will now be able to see more detailed information directly in the notification bar - without having to go to the shop.
Here's What We Know
The updated feature was seen in Play Store version 46.1.37-31.
In the new version, the notification displays the app icon, a circular download progress bar, the file size, and an "Open" button when the installation is complete.
The "See more" button can lead to a separate download manager, but this interface is still under testing.
Some elements don't work consistently yet: for example, sometimes the progress shows "0% of 0 MB" even after the download is complete.
At the current stage, the update is available to a limited number of users and is likely being rolled out as an A/B test.
There's no word yet on when the update will become generally available, as Google tests new features in multiple waves before a mass release.
