If you thought that modern television was hell, then get ready for the next level. The official trailer for The Running Man has been released, where survival is not a metaphor, but the main condition of the contract. And yes, you will really be chased, and millions of viewers will be happy to watch it.

What we know.

The story takes place in the near future, where the most popular show on the planet is the deadly reality show The Running Man. The rules are as simple as a baseball bat: survive for 30 days under the guns of professional hunters. The longer you survive, the more money you get. And your life is broadcast live for a spectacle-hungry audience.

The main character is a simple worker, Ben Richards, played by Glen Powell. He agrees to take part in the show to save his seriously ill daughter. The show's host, the charismatic but ruthless Dan Killian (Josh Brolin), promises Ben money... if he survives. But the plan doesn't go exactly according to the script. Ben begins not just to run, but to become a public favourite and a dangerous symbol of rebellion against the entire system. The more the show's ratings grow, the higher the price on his head.

About "The Running Man"

"The Running Man (2025) is a new film adaptation of the novel of the same name by Stephen King, written under the pseudonym Richard Bachman in 1982 (it was a bet in which Stephen King refuted the thesis that his books are bought only for the sake of a famous name). The original novel is a dystopian story about a world where a television show turns survival into a deadly reality show for the entertainment of the public.

This is not the first attempt to bring the story to the big screen. In 1987, the film The Running Man starring Arnold Schwarzenegger was released. However, at that time the plot departed from the book quite freely, focusing on action rather than social criticism.

The new 2025 version promises to be much closer to the original source. The lead role is played by Glen Powell, and the role of the producer of the bloody show is played by Josh Brolin. The film tells the story of Ben Richards, who agrees to take part in a cruel game to save his sick daughter. He is forced to run away from professional hunters under the guns of cameras while the crowd watches his every move, turning death into a show.

Premiere.

The film will be released on 7 November in cinemas only. And judging by the trailer, the show will be really bloody, exciting and, as expected, with a ton of social implications about who is the real predator here - the hunter or the viewer.
