NASA has announced a partnership with Netflix: in the summer of 2025, the platform will launch NASA Live, which will show live rocket launches, spacewalks and live views of Earth from the ISS - free of charge and without adverts.
What will be shown
- Live broadcasts of rocket launches
- Astronauts during spacewalks
- Live video streams from the ISS
- Coverage of science missions and other events
According to Rebecca Sirmons, director for NASA+, the mission of the service and the Space Act of 1958 is "to tell the story of space exploration to the widest possible audience." Netflix, with more than 700 million users, will help achieve that goal.
The collaboration is not exclusive: NASA+ will remain free on its website, app, and other platforms (Apple TV, Roku, Fire TV, etc.).
