SwitchBot Hub 3 works in Apple Home - now without crutches
SwitchBot Hub 3 became the company's first hub to officially achieve "Works with Apple Home" certification - it now works with the HomeKit/Matter ecosystem out of the box. The company has also added Smart Schedule to easily create automated scripts right in its app.
Here's What We Know
SwitchBot Hub 3 has been certified "Works with Apple Home" - this means direct compatibility with HomeKit through Matter, with no workarounds. SwitchBot devices are now visible and controllable directly in the Home app on iPhone and iPad, just like native HomeKit accessories.
In addition, the Hub 3 has gained Smart Schedule functionality. With built-in temperature, humidity, and light sensors, you can set up simple automatic on/off switches for your devices right through the SwitchBot app without having to delve into HomeKit scripts.
Why it's good
HomeKit users have long been waiting for a device that works directly through Matter - and SwitchBot Hub 3 has finally closed that gap. Smart Schedule is a convenient alternative to HomeKit's complex automation rules. If you don't want to create "if... then..." scenarios, all you have to do is set a time: switch off the lamp in the evening, switch on the humidifier in the morning, and you're done.
