Porsche has unveiled the updated 911 Carrera 4S - the all-wheel drive sports car has added 30 horsepower and received improvements on engineering.

Here's What We Know

The main innovation is a revised intercooler, borrowed from the 911 Turbo. Thanks to it, the output of the 3.0-litre twin-turbo six-cylinder engine has increased to 480 hp (previously it was 450 hp). Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h, as before, takes 3.3 seconds - with the optional Sport Chrono package. Top speed is 307 km/h.

Transmission is exclusively 8-speed "robot" PDK. Fans of mechanics will have to choose between 911 T or more radical GT3 and S/T. The new exhaust system sounds more aggressive, and the brakes are from the GTS version: with discs with a diameter of 408 mm at the front and 380 mm at the rear.

The Carrera 4S is available in three body styles: coupé, convertible and Targa. The coupé is a two-seater by default, but rear seats can be fitted free of charge. The Cabriolet and Targa are standard 2+2. The Targa also gets a fully steerable chassis to compensate for the extra weight.

UK prices start at £127,000 for the coupe. The Cabriolet will cost a minimum of £137,000, with the Targa starting at £137,600.
