Insider: Dynamic Island in iPhone 17 will get a new design, but the notch will not be reduced
The new flagship iPhone 17 series, which is expected in autumn 2025, will receive an updated interface for the Dynamic Island feature. This was reported by a reliable insider Digital Chat Station on Weibo, which has repeatedly accurately conveyed details about future iPhone models.
Here's What We Know
According to the information, Apple plans to improve the software part of Dynamic Island, but the external notch at the top of the display will remain the same in size and shape as in previous models. This may be a bit disappointing for users who were hoping for a smaller notch in this generation, but such changes are expected not earlier than 2026.
Digital Chat Station also confirmed that the iPhone 17 will have ultra-thin bezels around the screen. The design changes will be minimal but will emphasise the modern look of the device. As for iOS 26 updates that should appear along with the new models, it is only known that they will bring new features for Dynamic Island, but the exact list of changes has not been disclosed.
These innovations may be exclusive to the iPhone 17, and probably won't reach previous generations of iPhone 16 and older models. There are also rumours that a true full-screen iPhone without notches will not appear until the end of this decade.
There is very little time left until Apple's September event, where the company will officially unveil the new iPhones. Therefore, fans of the brand will soon find out what other innovations the manufacturer has prepared for its flagship smartphone.
