The first reactions to James Gunn's Superman are really something super!
After press and fan screenings, rave reviews of James Gunn's new "Superman" have filled social media. The film, in which Clark Kent is played by David Corensweth, is set for release on 11 July, with critics calling it an "uninterrupted joy", a "celebration of optimism" and the start of a "new DC era".

Erik Davis (Fandango) and others agree that the film is "the perfect superhero film" and "the beginning of a new era of DC Studios" filled with optimism and emotional lightness.
Corenslight is a born Superman, and his Clark Kent fills the film with warmth: the character doesn't just act, but truly "loves making the world a better place."
The new DCU style is bright and optimistic, Gunn has abandoned the grim tone and relied on "colour, humour, fantasy and plot clarity" with a whole team of strong villains.
This looks like the start of a successful new era for DC Studios - and fans are already excited.
