Bluesky has added features long awaited by users: you can now enable notifications from only the accounts you want, manage the types of notifications (likes, reposts, new followers) and filter them by source. This is a significant step towards personalisation and order in your feed.

Here's What's New About It

  • Activity by account: click on the "bell" on the profile of your favourite accounts to receive notifications of new posts and replies from them.
  • Categorisation: you can enable/disable notifications of likes, mentions, reposts, new subscribers, etc. by selecting who can trigger them - everyone, only subscribers, or no one.
  • Notifications about reposts of your reposts: if you share someone else's post, you can now see who liked or reposted your repost.
  • Replaced "priority" in settings: now instead of the old filter, you just set notifications for "only people you follower".

Why it's significant

Order and freedom. Users can control the flow of notifications: nothing unnecessary anymore, only what they need.

Competitive advantage. These features pull Bluesky closer to classic platforms: X/Twitter alerts are now available here.

Increased engagement. Media, bloggers and sports commentators have a chance to regain an active audience - especially in real time.
