Samsung unveils Galaxy Flip7: smartphone with external FlexWindow display and AI

Samsung Electronics has unveiled Galaxy Flip7, the company's most compact smartphone with AI and an updated FlexWindow external display. The new product combines an ultra-compact form factor with Galaxy AI capabilities, a flagship camera and intuitive smart features for everyday use. The smartphone is designed to be comfortable to use every day: it's fast, smart and yet small enough to fit in your pocket.

FlexWindow external screen

Galaxy Flip7 has an updated FlexWindow external screen that allows you to quickly reply to messages, check your schedule and take high-quality selfies. The largest display in the series is a 4.1-inch Super AMOLED display that delivers vivid images and super-smooth performance even in direct sunlight thanks to a peak brightness of 2,600 nits and a 120Hz refresh rate. These characteristics apply equally to the outer screen and the main 6.9-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X. The updated Vision Booster feature on the FlexWindow improves outdoor visibility so users can stay connected in any environment.

The thinnest Galaxy Flip yet

Samsung emphasises that the Galaxy Flip7 is designed for portability and delivers high performance in a compact format. Thanks to its sleek shape, it fits easily into a small pocket or purse, making it a convenient companion for everyday activities. At the same time, the smartphone is highly durable and designed for intensive daily use. Flip7 weighs 188 grams and is 14 mm thick when folded, making it the thinnest model in the series. The external display and back panel are protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2, and the updated Armor FlexHinge is thinner and stronger thanks to the use of high-strength materials. Additional stability is provided by the Armor Aluminum frame, which increases the overall reliability of the device.

More battery capacity

The Galaxy Flip7 is even thinner and more technologically advanced with a larger display and a larger battery. With the largest battery in the history of the Galaxy Flip series, it delivers long battery life, allowing you to watch movies, listen to music on streaming services or podcasts on long journeys, edit photos and share updates all day long. The 4,300 mAh battery provides up to 31 hours of video playback on a single charge. The Flip7 also features a 3nm processor designed specifically for Galaxy, with improved CPU, GPU and neuroprocessor, making it faster and more energy efficient than the previous generation. For the first time in the series, Samsung DeX is available, which allows the smartphone to instantly turn into a workstation: just turn the device around, connect it to a monitor and use the PC-like interface for advanced multitasking.

Advanced artificial intelligence and a new level of interaction with FlexWindow

Galaxy Flip7 combines the advanced capabilities of the FlexWindow external screen with smarter and more intuitive Galaxy AI, ushering in a new era in smartphone development. Thanks to deep integration with One UI 8 and Android 16, users can perform a variety of tasks directly on the external display. Using voice commands to quickly find information or control functions is even easier with the built-in Gemini Live assistant. It allows you to check flight details via Samsung Wallet, set flight time reminders, find popular restaurants in your destination, and save all this information to Samsung Notes for easy access.

The smartphone also offers advanced personalisation: users can customise wallpapers, widgets, colour schemes and emojis to make the interface reflect their mood or style. FlexWindow works as an extension of the user, adapting the screen to the wallpaper image - fonts dynamically change position to avoid blocking important details.

Gemini Live uses the camera to provide real-time advice, such as what clothes to wear for a particular weather. Now Bar lets you see your current app activity, notifications, podcast status, and other information right on the FlexWindow. Now Brief offers daily personalised updates, from traffic and calendar to fitness data and music recommendations based on user preferences.

Camera features

Galaxy Flip7 is equipped with flagship-level cameras, including 50MP wide-angle and 12MP ultra-wide-angle lenses. Thanks to the ProVisual Engine technology, the smartphone automatically optimises settings for clear and detailed images in any lighting conditions. The night mode has been improved to reduce noise and blur in low-light conditions.

FlexCam on the external screen allows you to apply filters in real time and use the new zoom slider to quickly zoom in. Dual preview allows both the photographer and subject to see the composition simultaneously on the FlexWindow. A portrait studio is available in Photo Assist for photo editing.

Knox KEEP protection and service

Samsung is strengthening the security of its mobile devices by introducing new AI security tools, advanced threat detection in the Galaxy ecosystem, and network security with quantum-resistant encryption. One UI 8 introduces Knox Enhanced Encrypted Protection (KEEP), which creates encrypted storage environments for individual apps in the device's secure zone, ensuring that each app only has access to its own data. Knox Matrix now offers more proactive protection, and post-quantum cryptography is integrated into Secure Wi-Fi to protect data on public networks. In addition, Samsung has introduced a free priority service in Europe for owners of Galaxy foldable smartphones with expert support in stores, online and by phone, as well as the possibility of receiving a temporary device for repair.
