Hyundai has unveiled the production version of its Ioniq 6 N electric sports sedan, which develops 650bhp. The novelty will make its public debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. It is the second all-electric model of the N range after the Ioniq 5 N.

Here's What We Know

Ioniq 6 N is based on the recently updated Ioniq 6 in the "civilian" version. The novelty has received a number of improvements in appearance - new bumpers, aggressive front splitter, black sills and aerodynamic antifender on the "swan neck" struts. The wheel arches have been widened, and the body palette is completed by the spectacular colour Performance Blue Pearl.

Technically, everything is the same as in Ioniq 5 N: a battery for 84 kW∙h, electric motors at the front (166 kW) and rear (298 kW). This adds up to 478 kW (650 hp) and 770 Nm in N Grin Boost mode. Acceleration to 100 km/h takes 3.2 seconds and the top speed reaches 257 km/h.

The 800-volt architecture can charge the battery from 10 to 80 per cent in 18 minutes with up to 350 kW of power.

The sedan gets an arsenal of features familiar from other N models:

  • N e-Shift, which mimics a dual-clutch transmission
  • N Active Sound+ with three customisable sound profiles
  • N Drift Optimizer
  • N Battery Preconditioning
  • N Torque Distribution with 11 levels of customisation.

Exclusive to the Ioniq 6 N, N Ambient Shift Light uses customisable interior lighting to provide visual cues of the optimum 'gear shift' moment.

The suspension has also been seriously upgraded and special 275/35 R20 Pirelli P Zero 5 tyres are used for better grip.

The interior gets bucket-shaped N seats, a new steering wheel, metal pedal pads and even a GoPro camera mount in the ceiling for filming track days.

Hyundai has not yet revealed the price or range of the Ioniq 6 N.
