Google Pixel Watch 4 will have significantly larger batteries compared to the previous Pixel Watch 3 model. According to Android Authority, the 41 mm version will have a 327 mAh battery, and the 45 mm version will have a 459 mAh battery.

Here's What We Know

Such an increase in capacity should improve the battery life of the watch, although the processor itself will remain unchanged - Snapdragon W5 Gen 1, which has been used in Pixel Watch for two generations in a row. Unlike OnePlus, which uses a combination of Wear OS and RTOS to extend battery life, Google is not switching to dual operating systems.

The Pixel Watch 3 officially had a claimed battery life of 24 hours, but users, in particular owners of the 45mm model, note that the watch lasts up to two days without recharging.

The problem with processor upgrades in smartwatches is that Qualcomm has not yet released the new sw6100 platform, which is why most manufacturers are forced to stay with the Snapdragon W5 Gen 1. The processor works satisfactorily, but its capabilities no longer meet modern requirements.

Samsung uses its own Exynos processors, which show performance. However, it is not yet clear whether other brands have access to these chips.

The Google Pixel Watch 4, along with the Pixel 10 series, is expected to be officially unveiled at the Made by Google event on 20 August.
