New rumours have emerged about the characteristics of the iPhone 17, which Apple is to present this autumn. GF Securities analyst Jeff Pu has updated his forecasts and now claims that the smartphone will not receive the A18 chip but the more modern Apple A19.

Here's What We Know

This processor will also be installed for the iPhone 17 Air model.

Previously, it was believed that Apple would keep the A18 chip in the new product, which was installed in the iPhone 16. The new A19 chip promises increased performance and energy efficiency, which is especially important for working with complex applications, games, and artificial intelligence.

The base model iPhone 17 will receive 8 GB of LPDDR5 RAM, just like the iPhone 17 Air. Higher versions of the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max will be equipped with more and faster RAM - 12 GB of LPDDR5X standard.

Another important novelty will be the use of Apple's own Wi-Fi 7 chip. This technology will provide a fast and stable wireless connection, which will be a big plus for streaming, gaming, and working with cloud services.

The display of the basic iPhone 17 will be enlarged to 6.3 inches with an OLED screen with a refresh rate of 120 Hz. However, unlike the Pro models, it will not receive LTPO (ProMotion) technology, which allows you to dynamically change the refresh rate and save battery power.

According to recent reports, Apple has scheduled the official release of the iPhone 17 for 8 September 2025.

For now, this information remains a rumour, but it is based on data from a reliable analyst.
