An updated and expanded version of the cult strategy game Stronghold: Crusader (2002) has been released on Steam.

Like the remaster of the first part, the novelty is very popular and receives excellent reviews.

Here's What We Know

FireFly studio has again pleased gamers: the updated Stronghold works perfectly, there are no technical problems and bugs, the strategy is qualitatively adapted to modern systems and monitors, and the new content fits perfectly into the general concept of the strategy.

Stronghold: Crusader Definitive Edition received 93% positive feedback in Steam, and the peak online exceeded 13.5 thousand players, which is a decent result for a retro-strategy, especially since its release took place in the middle of the working week.

Flashback

Besides graphical improvements and adaptation of Stronghold: Crusader for modern systems, FireFly added four new Lords, bringing the total number of AI opponents up to 20 characters and each of them has their own approaches to battles.

Stronghold: Crusader also added eight new units, such as desert Bedouins and Arab horsemen, which have unique advantages and can be used in different situations. For example, to hire Bedouins you need to build a special tent, and for horsemen you need a supply of camels.

In the updated Crusader there are larger maps for more large-scale and spectacular battles, and the developers have prepared two additional story campaigns, which provide five missions each and allow you to play for the representatives of European countries and peoples of the Middle East.

In Definitive Edition there is also a special co-operative mode, where you can complete 10 missions of "Battle Trail" together.

The developers promise extensive post-player content support for Stronghold: Crusader Definitive Edition.
