The scandal-plagued Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time remake has been one of Ubisoft's most troubled projects (though it falls short of Skull Bones). The game was announced back in 2020 and was going to be released soon, but Ubisoft's indie division did such an abysmal job that the game had to be handed over to Ubisoft Montréal office and development had to start all over again.

It was recently revealed that a new version of The Sands of Time was planned to be released by 31 March 2026, but now there are indications that this will happen before the end of 2025.

Here's What We Know

During Ubisoft's AGM, CFO Frederick Duguet commented on the first results of the partnership with Tencent:

As you know, we have iconic brands in our catalogue that we can activate or reactivate with a small investment. This is the case for the remake of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, which will be released very soon.

Frederic Duguet did not specify a release date for the long-suffering remake, but many gaming journalists and analysts, including PC Gamer publications, believe that Ubisoft will try to release Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake in time for the Christmas season of 2025, as these days traditionally see the biggest sales of video games and consoles.

The game will be available on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series.
