You'll have to upgrade your OS: Square Enix is dropping support for Final Fantasy XIV on Windows 10
A few days ago, for the first time, the number of Windows 11 users surpassed those still using Windows 10, and soon gamers will have another reason to upgrade to the current operating system.
Here's What We Know
As of 14 October, Microsoft will finally end support for Windows 10 and given this fact, Square Enix has announced that on the same day official support for Final Fantasy XIV, which is a popular game among fans of the MMORPG genre, will end on the outdated software.
The Japanese developer explained that after this date, the game will continue to run on Windows 10, but the company will no longer be able to provide service support and does not guarantee the correct functioning of the game systems.
Square Enix may consider individual technical support requests for Windows 10 issues after the end of official support, but such assistance will be limited, considered on a case-by-case basis and is not guaranteed.
Final Fantasy XIV system requirements will also change from 14 October, Square Enix warns that in addition to Windows 11 will be updated and CPU requirements at minimum settings, gamers will need at least Intel Core i5-8400.
