8BitDo has unveiled the Pro 3, a versatile controller with modular design, retro design and support for top technologies
8BitDo has released a new Pro 3 controller, the main feature of which is a modular design and the freedom of users to choose the location of buttons.
Here's What We Know
The Pro 3 combines retro design inspired by classic consoles with modern technology including magnetic buttons, TMR joysticks and Hall-effect triggers.
The controller gets a symmetrical stick layout like the PlayStation DualSense and the ability to physically rearrange the ABXY buttons, which is handy for players who switch between different platforms and don't want to mess up familiar controls.
Tunnel Magneto-Resistance technology gives the controller high accuracy and resistance to drift, while Hall sensor triggers provide durability and smoothness.
The Pro 3 is compatible with Windows, Android, macOS, iOS, Steam Deck, Nintendo Switch and Switch 2, and supports Bluetooth, USB-C and 2.4GHz connectivity. The built-in 1000mAh battery provides up to 20 hours of battery life. It comes with a charging dock that also serves as a stand for the gamepad.
The 8BitDo Pro 3 is available in three colours: grey, navy blue and beige. Sales will start on 12 August 2025 at a price of $70.
